Infopost! The Quick-E-Skinny Edition!

Hey-o, folks! This is just a quick update of my characters outside of the new boy, since at least one of them has some new stuff going on you should probably know about. In fact, let's start with her.

Blackwall: I fear for Cassandra sometimes, the way she throws herself into battle. I've never known a warrior like her.
Sera: Not as buttoned up as she plays, right? Tough though, I stand behind her in front of anything.
Vivienne: I admire Cassandra's determination. If she had a little charm, she could be a remarkable leader.

Cassandra Pentaghast is:
... newly sixteen as of two days ago.
... a junior.
... from the Dragon Age series.
... part of a secretive order called the Seekers of Truth who police the Chantry, her world's version of the Church.
... perfectly capable of kicking your ass three ways from Sunday most likely.
... stern, assertive, no-nonsense.
... a total romantic who might just have an enormous crush on [livejournal.com profile] gavegoodface.
... here's the new bits:
... has gone through her Vigil and is now a full Seeker.
... which means she is now immune to possession and mind control.
... and can control anyone with lyrium in their blood by setting that lyrium aflame WITH HER MIND.
... which mostly just applies to Dragon Age-verse mages, any Templars that might ever show up, or idiots who'd down a vial of lyrium just to see what happens.
... I'm not saying I'm watching you, Karla, but I'm watching you.
... there's also some other powers attached to this, most importantly the ability to wipe magic from an area.
... this also means that she physically emptied herself of all emotion ('made herself Tranquil') before having that emotion restored through being touched by a Spirit of Faith.
... she doesn't know that the Vigil involves actual Tranquility or spirits, but if you're the type who could see the touch of a spirit on someone, congratulations.
... however, if you can, please poke me before mentioning anything about it to her, please?

Mary Read: Nothing is true. Everything is permitted. This is the world's only certainty.
Edward Kenway: Everything is permitted? I like the sound of that. Thinking what I like and acting how I please.
Mary Read: You parrot the words, but you do not understand them.

Edward Kenway is:
... nearly 17 years old.
... a senior.
... from the game Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
... en route to become Captain Kenway, a Dread Pirate of the Golden Age of Piracy.
... someone who'll meet many historical pirates, even if he isn't one in our regular Earth history books. (though he could be in your Earth history books.)
... from a family that owns a small sheep farm in Bristol, but Edward grew up in Swansea, which means he has a thick, noticable Welsh accent.
... someone who grew up very poor and has a huge chip on his shoulder about it that will lead to most of his troubles in the future.
... never sure whether he loathes rich nobles or wants to be one of them or both.
... dating the adorable [livejournal.com profile] wildandbrave.
... descended from the ancient gods responsible for the human race, though he's not aware of it and his blood is diluted.
... in possession of powers that let him see the world with all senses intertwined, allowing him to sense secrets, people's motivations, and track them across great distances.
... fond of parkour and getting in trouble.

Obi-Wan: I had many brothers and sisters. And fathers and mothers. And even a strange little green uncle. I don’t have that home now. I don’t have that family. Almost every friend I’ve ever had is dead. I… I’ve never thought about it in exactly those terms, before. It nearly took my breath away, just now. Almost every friend I’ve ever had is dead. Most killed by Sith evil. And I’ve never lived without the Jedi Order to fall back on, to help me when things went badly. What does it mean to be a Jedi alone?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is:
... someone who feels a lot older than he is.
... a teacher.
... an iconic Star Wars character, god help me.
... from shortly after Anakin's lamentable descent into the Dark Side.
... someone who possesses complicated feelings about Anakin Skywalker.
... a Jedi Knight, at heart. A really good one.
... with all the telekinesis, telepathy, and ability to commune with the galaxy that come with it.
... splitting time between Tatooine and Fandom. He'll tell you it's because the island makes him.
... actually having a lot of trouble staying away from Anakin Skywalker.
... a sarcastic and dry wit who worries far more than he'll let on and who's dealing with a lot of pain.
... living in the Hermit's Shack with an eopie named Roo and her son.
... more comfortable that way, balancing his need for alone time with his need to be among the people.
... probably going to get involved with a fledgeling Rebel Alliance sooner rather than later, once I finally mainline Rebels.

Mira: I've hunted a lot of people in my line of work, but I never met someone who wants to get lost more than you do.

Atton Rand is:
... 30 years old and regretting it.
... also a teacher. Possibly regretting that, too.
... from the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - the Sith Lords. Or some combination of punctuation to that effect.
... the dictionary definition of a hot mess.
... a guy who went from the military to the Sith to the smugglers to the Jedi in the space of about 15 years.
... changeable and good at adapting to being different people if he needs to be; he abandoned his old life as Jaq after he left the Sith.
... mourning the love of his life who he still won't admit to being in love with out loud.
... probably the worst Jedi you've ever met in terms of being an upstanding, righteous defender of the Republic.
... but really good at his job, which in practice mostly involves breaking into things, beating guilty people up, and saving the innocent ones.
... helping rebuild the Jedi Order after the past twenty-odd years of wars (the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi Civil War, the Dark War) destroyed it.
... coincidentally, was involved in each one of those conflicts.
... has the usual Jedi powerset, though he uses Force lightning more than modern Jedi would be comfortable with.
... has two particular areas of the Force he's unusually good at: blocking any mind-affecting or mind-reading powers, and coming back from wounds that would kill or at least incapacitate other warriors in a split second.
... he's basically a Force cockroach.

Zeus: I've never seen a Valkyrie cry.
Tamsin: It's cause it's against type. No emotions on a battlefield.

Tamsin is:
... thousands of years old.
... a Valkyrie Fae.
... from the television series Lost Girl.
... nursing a low-key crush on [livejournal.com profile] nookiepowered.
... kind of an asshole.
... Mayor of Fandom Town.
... no, seriously, she's an asshole.
... does not give a damn about her bad reputation. Will happily bang, drink, or kill anything.
... occasionally abuses her office to be a giant troll when she gets bored.
... has this whole also low-key angst thing going on because a thousand years ago, she traded in a soul for a shot at another set of lives.
... being a Valkyrie means she has many of lives, and she's reborn each time, until the last one.
... her hair has special powers. So does she in general: specifically, she can incite heavy fear and doubt in people to the point of incapacitation.
... lives with Death of the Endless. Considering her day job used to be carrying the souls of fallen heroes to Valhalla, that's appropriate.
... still a little wiggy about this, but weirdly grateful for [livejournal.com profile] living_endless's steady presence.
... someone whose native tongue is Norwegian, but she does a Canadian accent damn well.

Len is:
... 29 years old and still not a grown-up.
... Dutch, and ergo on the CE(S)T timezone, which is EST +6.
... a video game journalist, allegedly.
... responsible for 25 to 50% of the video game addictions in this game.
... on her way to having a full video game character roster by 2018.
... owner of four outside chickens called Tribble, Troubble, Fleur and Wild Chicken (who really owns herself).
... owner of one inside chicken called Bintje.
... will talk about them incessantly.
... really excited about the Dishonored Definitive Edition coming out tomorrow.
... overly fond of military characters for some reason.
... reachable via prince dot of dot bitca at gmail dot com.
